Stage 7.0

Belgrade  |  2011  |  Project

Stage 7.0 relies on the long tradition of theater as a recognizable space for socialization in its attempt to create new version of stage within the values of contemporary time. On the ground floor experimental theater space was established (black box theater) with the outdoor amphitheater above it which will serve as the main hub for socialization and interaction with the surrounding environment most notably with the Sava river.

Utilization of nearby Sava river, more specifically its hydropower gave the opportunity to transform space. With the use of bob, building would harvest waters kinetic energy during the rainy days when the river levels are higher. Harvested energy would further on be used for shifting of the roof so to provide shelter above the open amphitheater. Consequently, previously covered stage disappears, transforms, opening the view towards the river keeping the auditiorium engaged.
